Zero-knowledge encryption means your media is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches MecoDrive’s servers, and the keys never leave your hands. Only you (and the people you explicitly share with) can decrypt your photos, videos, and GIFs—our team and systems can’t view them. We store only the minimum metadata needed to operate the service, not the contents themselves. Because privacy is by design, if you lose your recovery credentials, no one—including us—can restore access.

How to use Mecodrive?You can sign in using your Google account, which will automatically create your account. Then, you can set a password for login or continue using Google login. Currently, the mobile and desktop apps are only available with password login, so you should create one. You can also delete your account at any time by contacting us.
What happens when my subscription expires?Your uploaded data will be removed from our servers 30 days following the expiration of your subscription. Prior to this, you will be notified via email or dashboard to retrieve any backed-up data.
Can I export my images?Yes, you can export your images at any time. Our service provides an easy-to-use export tool that allows you to download your images to your device. The take-away function is still in development.
How long do you keep my images after I delete my account?When you delete your account, your images are permanently removed from our servers within 30 days in accordance with our data retention policy.
Does MecoDrive support RAW files?We currently support uploading and storing DNG files. However, viewing DNG images directly in the browser or app may require converting them to a compatible format. You can still retrieve your original DNG files by downloading your images.
